What else do you have left?
I am known as: Wingedheart
I have walked this earth for: 29 moons
I am a: She-cat
My loyalties lie with: BrookClan
I serve my clan as a: Warrior/Queen
Short: Fluffy tortoiseshell she-cat with pale green eyes
Appearance:
Wingedheart looks more like a pampered kitty-pet than a fierce warrior of BrookClan, tried and tested through the many moons they have suffered in the paws of the foxes. Her pelt is fluffy and and long-haired, which gives her the illusion of size and strength, when she really relys on speed and the element of surprise when pouncing upon a piece of prey or fighting another cat or fox for that matter. Her pelt is splattered with unusual marking, black and orange splotches over cream colored fur, covering most of her back and spreading to her tail and head. Her face is also blotched with the same hues, ginger circling her right eye and changing into black over her left eye. Her eyes, not so unusual or shocking that they demand attention, are pretty all the same, if even a little ordinary. They are pale green, often tinged with worry or sparkling with love when she looks upon her kits.
Personality:
Often dismissed or overlooked for her kitty-pet appearance, Wingedheart has rightfully earned her place in BrookClan for her determination and loyalty that matches that of its leaders. While Swiftclaw led them through with strength, Wingedheart held them together with love as the mother of the clan, both figuratively and literally.
She has certainly changed, no longer the bubbly and confident, if even a little flirtatious, she-cat that she used to be. The foxes and the other clan's leaving has affected her dramatically. She is now more well-known for her caring and compassion that has kept hope alive in BrookClan. From her own kits to the full grown warriors in the clan, Wingedheart always has a soft word and a smile for anyone who needs her help. She is more soft-spoken and mild mannered than before and has developed into a great listener where the entire clan knows they can go to her to speak in absolute secrecy.
She has, however, developed a reluctance to believe in miracles and no longer turns to StarClan in times of doubt. Sure, she would like to believe but when her kits were starving or their home was destroyed by foxes, or her mate was lying half-dead on the ground, it was not StarClan that saved them. It was their loyalty to each other, their good will and self-sacrifice that has kept BrookClan alive, and not by any actions from long-dead cats.
These past moons have toughed her up however. No longer is she happy-go-lucky, she can be very stubborn, especially when it comes to her kits and is not afraid to speak her mind. If she ever runs into a clan-cat again, they would do well to step aside because she is not the optimistic she-cat that believes that every cat is good at heart.
History:
For the turn her life has taken now, Wingedheart was born under no special circumstances, the only kit of the respected warrior Falconeye and his pretty mate, Rosehue. While being two of the older warriors as well as suffering one miscarridge, the two were overjoyed when StarClan granted them even just one healthy kit, whom they named Wingedkit. As a kit, Wingedkit was always on the move and she developed a closely knit bond with her parents.
Nor was her mentoring anything remarkable. She trained under the patience of Doepelt, earning her warrior name of Wingedheart for her compassion and energy that was poured into everything she did. It was shortly after she was made a warrior that everything took a turn for the worst.
In a moment of desperation, Fernstar sold out the other clans to the foxes in exchange for more land and prey to feed her starving clan. Both warriors and leaders met their ghastly end at the claws of Kolette. However, it wasn't long before the foxes' ambition was larger than originally agreed on and they turned against BrookClan. The other clans abandoned BrookClan and fleed to a new home, with several members of BrookClan, particularly their deputy, leaving BrookClan to die.
Wingedheart chose to stay behind and was horrified at the idea of her other clan-mates, those she had grown up with, forsaking their clan as easily as they did. It was not BrookClan who betrayed them, but Fernstar. At first Wingedheart felt nothing but sadness and despair over their actions. Now, as a stronger clan once more, she burns with anger at the fact that not only did the other clans leave them in their time of need, but her own cats turned their back on their blood.
Life certainly hasn't been easy on the Brookclanners but there is one shining ray of light in the midst of these dark times, her kits. Her relationship with Swiftclaw certainly was and still is a strange one. At first, having kits with him was for the good of the clan, more of a business relationship, and had nothing to do with love. Certainly as a kit, Wingedheart dreamed of being wooed by a tom and having a family with him, but those dreams were forgotten in these times of trouble. Swiftclaw was a good provider and father, and Starclan knows, BrookClan needed a fresh start.
However, over time, her feelings for Swiftclaw have developed into something more, perhaps something that could be called love. After watching him lead their clan with determination and strength, she has grown to love him, even if she doesn't know if he feels the same way. Nevertheless, he has given her several beautiful kits that her life revolves around.
With the death of Kolette at the paws of Swiftclaw, there is no reason for BrookClan to stay. Their only hope is to leave their home in search of new and unexplored territories.
