Name: Cloudspots Gender: Tom Age: 41 moons Clan: RavineClan Rank: warrior - possibly deputy
Appearance: this tom has very strange markings that are a bit different than most cats. most of his body is a creamy white color, including his underbelly and parts of his legs. the second color that is shown on Cloudspots' pelt is a bright golden orange that contrasts well with the milky cream beside it. His fur is long, which is constantly a pain for the deputy, as he needs to untangle it and groom more than a usual cat would need to to stay looking crisp and approachable. His muzzle is white, and surrounds a pink nose that has been scratched multiple times throughout his life. the fur on his tail is mostly ginger colored, except for a few creamy patches near the tip. his long fur is mostly shown here, in his tail, where it is a bit flume like a feather. the fur around his legs is white, like socks rising up his appendages, with pink pads that are calloused and rough.
he is built very poorly, with uneven proportions that look odd to the naked eye. from far away he is just like a normal cat, but up close his head is a bit too small for his bulky body, as well as his paws are a bit too dainty to hold up his thick legs. his tail is long and flows out smoothly, but his legs are shorter and stockier than most. Cloudspots' ears are thin and short, but have the same amount of use as every other cat's ears. tufts of fur fly off of the top of them, much like a red squirrel's ears, and is a distinguishing mark of this old warrior. his eyes are a piercing green that soak down into the soul of the knowledgeable tom. his whiskers are thin and white, and blend in with his creamy muzzle and contrast well to Cloudspots' ginger patches.
Strengths: giving directions, teaching apprentices Weaknesses: demonstrating techniques, gets distracted easily
Personality: Cloudspots has a varying personality. Sometimes he is a soft, caring tom, but most of the time he is shut down and serious on the outside. some might think of him as a rock in his facial expressions. He is shut down to the rest of the world, and doesn't share his thoughts with others very easily. Most of the time he over-thinks everything and doesn't slow down to get the opinion of others before he goes through with something. When he is in a good mood, Cloudspots is the most helpful and caring cat in the Clan. He takes care of apprentices when their mentors can't go out, and when they need extra training. Other cats will come up to Cloudspots for direction when the leader is ill, and he takes his job very seriously. Even when Cloudspots himself is sick, he still tries to get things done and continue with his life, dismissing his illness like it is nothing. Cloudspots knows that he is a good teacher, and will go through anything to make sure that the apprentices of his Clan get the correct knowledge for them to become great warriors in the future. All he is concerned about is the future of the Clan as a whole, and will do anything to make sure that it will excel in every way.
Likes: teaching, hunting, leading, patrolling, fighting Dislikes: bugs, carrion, foxes, badgers, coyotes, rule-breakers
History: Cloudkit – In the nursery, little Cloudkit was easily frightened and stayed behind his mother, Bearclaw, constantly. he rarely ventured out of the nursery, although the other kit’s tried to force him to go on an adventure around the camp with them. he preferred to stay to himself and enjoy his own company than be with the other kits. His mother was very kind to him and babied him for far too long. he became dependant on Bearclaw and stuck to her like sap. By the time he was five moons old he had barely left the nursery. One day, during Bearclaw went out to the woods to hunt on a patrol to bring food to Cloudkit. she ventured off on her own and got attacked by a CherryClan cat that had wandered in to Clan territory. During this time, it was not safe for cats to go out alone, for the War was happening. Bearclaw hadn't realized the real danger, and was attacked without mercy. Since Bearclaw had been in the nursery for moons and had not been practicing her warrior skills for quite some time, the loner got the best of Bearclaw and killed her. The CherryClan ran off before RavineClan could trace him. Cloudkit was so depressed about his mother’s untimely death that he became almost antisocial. In contrast, the depression caused by Cloudkit’s loss caused him to understand the real world and become a stronger warrior. Little Cloudkit really didn't understand what was going on between the Clans. He knew that a loner cat had killed his mother, but that was mostly it. The thing was, Cloudkit had seen the foxes that roamed around the camp sometimes. He had snuck out of the camp once or twice, like all kits at the age of almost becoming apprentices, and had seen them pad along. They scared him half to death, and the fact that Fernstar, the BrookClan leader wanted them there scared him even more. He couldn't believe that these foxes were wanted here. Still, he went along with it, just thinking that it was a part of Clan life. Dreamstar, the leader of RavineClan, seemed to panic a bit, but Cloudkit also dismissed that. The foxes would leave soon. They couldn't stay forever.
Cloudpaw – Cloudkit became an apprentice shortly after his mother’s journey to StarClan. he trained as hard as he could, but still remained quiet around his Clanmates and at his first Gathering. Cloudpaw valued becoming an honorable warrior more than he did becoming friends with the other apprentices and creating bonds with his Clan. All Cloudpaw could think of was becoming a cat that others admired and respected. He didn't really understand why he had to work harder than the other apprentices, and how his denmates could do things better than him. Realizing that it was himself that kept him from excelling, he broke down his mind's barrier from the loss of his mother and tried harder than he had ever done before. His mentor, Whitelily, found that he was a good learner, but had to apply himself before anything could be done well. Without his full concentration, there was nothing. Soon, Cloudpaw became a well-rounded apprentice, but it was in the midst of terror in the forest. The Clan still went along with the training, even though there was danger around with all of the foxes lead by Fernstar. Cloudpaw and the rest of RavineClan tried to stay away from them as much as possible, and by this point, Cloudpaw thought that Fernstar was crazy. Cloudpaw had witnessed and lived through the deaths of many of RavineClan's leaders by this point, and Dreamstar was long gone. Then the news came that the Clan was going to leave. But beforer RavineClan picked up their things and left, they made Cloudpaw the last apprentice to become a warrior in the old forest. He became Cloudspots, and wore his name proudly.
Cloudspots – His first warrior days were traveling. The day after his warrior vigil as Cloudspots, the three Clans, RavineClan, TealClan, and CherryClan, left BrookClan and began the Journey to a new home. Cloudspots was nervous at first, for he had never been this close to cats from other Clans. Frankly, they scared him in the beginning. He didn't want to have anything to do with them if they were just going to become separate Clans in the future, anyway. Cloudspots tried to stay within his Clan and stay away from the other cats, but in the end, it was inevitable to ignore them. They were all in this together, and they couldn't dismiss that. Cloudspots began hunting and feeding cats that he had never even met before, and it scared him at first. Would they all become one Clan? What if the three Clans became one? Would it start another War? Eventually, Cloudspots warmed up to TealClan and CherryClan. He realized reluctantly that they were one of them, and had gone through the same traumas that had stricken the whole old forest. They were practically one group of cats trying to find a home. Cloudspots remembered when the CherryClan leader, who wasn't even a real leader yet, disappeared unexpectedly. there was an uproar. Some cats thought that one from another Clan had killed him, others just thought that he was taken by a bird of prey or a badger during the night. None really knew for sure. Redstorm, previously of BrookClan, took over the job of taking care of CherryClan. In the beginning, Cloudspots thought that the tom was a bit sketchy and shouldn't be trusted, but eventually warmed up to him as the three Clans finally got to their destination. After many moons of traveling, the cats reached a forest that had long been forgotten by any form of civilization. Cloudspots remembered looking at it in wonder and realizing that they had found a new home, one that was different from the old, but the same in so many ways. The trees were the same, the ground was the same, the sun still shone how it did back at the old forest, but it was all new. it was home. Redstorm and the two other leaders picked an elite group of cats to go and search out the area while they stayed behind to watch their Clans and protect them. To his surprise, Cloudspots was chosen to go on the patrol, along with Pigeonwing and Treeroot from CherryClan and Watermint and Duckbill from TealClan. Cloudspots was feeling pretty confident that he had been chosen to go, but then got nervous as Amberlight, the she-cat that he had fancied throughout the journey was also chosen to come on the patrol. Cloudspots tried to ignore her at first, but instead of looking for a place for his Clan to stay, he found himself looking at Amberlight. He tried to place himself at the beginning of the patrol, in the lead, and placed Amberlight at the end so he wouldn't need to see her as he scoped out the territory. It almost seemd like he had found the perfect place for all of the Clans. There were beautiful areas for each Clan to live in peace without the horrible Fernstar and Kolette to attack them during the night. They had found the perfect place.
At their new camp, Amberlight and Cloudspots decided to have kits. Cloudspots realized that he loved her with all of his heart, and that they would have the first kits in this new place. Amberlight conceived, and moons later she gave birth to two healthy kits. They were the first kits in the new RavineClan, under Rainstar. Amberlight and Cloudspots named their kits Owlkit and Whitekit. Owlkit was the tom, while Whitekit was the she-cat. They were well taken care of in their new home, and had known nothing of the old forest. One day, a horrible illness spread through the camp. Strangely, it only took two lives. Of course, it was the leader, Rainstar, and Amberlight. Owlkit and Whitekit, who were about ready to become apprentices, watched their mother die of the horrible illness. This is the first time they ever saw the kind Cloudspots become hard. He was a shell of his past self, even though he was still there. It was strange for him to need to go on without Amberlight in this new place, but he left her there after burying her with his Clan. It was like he was starting his life all over again. A life without hope, but there was hope. Phantomsun would become leader, and the deputy position was now open. Soon, Phantomsun would be Phantomstar, and all Cloudspots wanted to do was become the deputy to the new leader.

Roleplay Example:
--on By Moonlight as rainbear
why did this perfectly normal day need to go so awry. of course everything that rainbear did went wrong in some way, and this little obstacle had come at exactly the right time. right when the fighting was getting better and they were becoming better friends with each other, a stupid fox had to get in the way of everything. rainbear was certain that it was a mangy fox out there in the bushes, she could smell it from a mile away apart from her own scent, and viper's kittypet-ish scent and the forest's conifrers. it stunk like a rotting animal, and rainbear was frozen into place with her tail straight up and eyes peering into the nettles and thorns in the bushes. it was right there, right near them. how could viper not smell it? well, that was one thing rainbear was better at than him, she could hear and smell things ten times better than the tom.
"Am I too tough for you, Rainbear?" ya, right. and hedgehogs could fly. could he seriously not know that there was danger around them, apart from her amazing fighting skills? she shook her head to clear viper's voice from her mind. her thoughts were full of things that needed to be done, things that needed to be executed in order to get rid of the fox that could eat them any second from now. how in the world could he not smell it?! rainbear lashed her tail out at him to signal him to stay quiet, and risked a glare away from the bushes to show how serious she was right now. this was not time to "play fight" as they had been doing. this was the big time. the real deal. and she had a feeling that viper couldn't handle it. it was too much for "perfect" viper to control all by himself. he would need her here if the fox attacked.
"What doyou smell? I can't scent anything over the pine trees and the ShadowClan scent-" until now rainbear hadn't noticed the damage she had inflicted on him when she pushed him off of her. his shoulder was bleeding a bit, and she hadn't meant for that to happen. oh joy. an injured tom cat to help me here. and he won't stay quiet! lashing her tail again, she didn't even want to waste the time to peer over her shoulder at him and glare. before she could do anything else, she heard him meow, "I'm gonna go in there, figure out what's going on and stuff ... and get whatever that thing is outta there." of course he just had to make it difficult for her. rainbear could do a lot of things, but she couldn't stop viper from leaping off into the bushes as he finished his statement. for a moment, rainbear didn't even care that viper might parish in the battle against the fox he couldn't smell all by himself. but then, sense hit her hard in the gut along with a bucket full of guilt. and soon, she was following him into the bushes. what else was she supposed to do? just wait there while the tom went off and saved her all by himself? he didn't even know that it was a fox in that bush and he thought that he could take it on. rainbear rolled her eyes as she took off after him.
the thorns scraped her pelt, but she barely registered the fact as she trampled through the forest after viper. everywhere she followed his scent it was coated in the scent of fox, and she feared the worst. each time she came to a spot where viper had stopped, he had already left. still flying through the forest as fast as she could after viper's scent, she stumbled over a small pebble. it got caught between her toes in her paw, and she stopped for a moment to shake it loose before continuing on. coming into a large clearing, she found blood on the floor, next to a hole in the ground. a fox's den. rainbear didn't even smell the blood to check if it was vipers. she looked at it in awe, and sat down beside it, closing her eyes and feeling sadness overwhelm her system. she had never seen anything this horrid, besides when her mother, bearclaw died. "viper" she whispered solemnly to herself.
rainbear noticed the blood being smeared along the ground and then going into the forest beside her. getting up, she followed it. around her, the scent of fox still enveloped the area, but she ignored it for a while as she followed the little drips of blood from what she thought was viper's carcass. smelling the air, she could smell viper's scent, but also the scent of dead carrion and fox and bird. why does it smell so much like bird? stopping abruptly as she realized this, she heard a yowl in the distance. a yowl that wasn't that far from her, and a yowl that was distinctly viper's voice. her head popped up, and she looked toward the area where the sound came from.
she raced off toward the clearing where the sound was coming from. pushing through the bushes, she found viper attacking a now-disabled fox and a carcass of a bird laying on the ground near the battle. viper had not died. viper was fighting and well. the bird was dead. that was why it smelled so much like bird. why hadn't she realized this before? sometimes she could be so stupid. viper cried out in a yowl, "Rainbear! Help me!"
rainbear leaped up in a yowl and landed squarely on the fox's shoulders that were now on the ground from viper's last move. she dug her thick claws into the mongrel's hide. letting out a yowl, her teeth also clamped down hard on the fox's ear, making him growl in protest. with no doubt in her mind, rainbear knew that this was the biggest fox that she had ever seen in her whole life in shadowclan. it needed to be eliminated from the area, or her whole clan was in danger. this would be a fight to the death for her - and the fox was going down.

Just a note: If you want your application to be even considered for RavineClan deputy, you really need to work in some history of the four clans. At his age, he would have been a young warrior when the clans left their old home. He would have seen Dreamstar's reign as an apprentice and kit, and he would have helped in the patrols that explored the new territory in their current home. You should perhaps comment on his opinions about Fernstar and her choice that destroyed the old forest.
Keep in mind that Rainstar has only recently died of an illness. Phantomsun, Rainstar's deputy, hasn't even been to receive her nine lives yet. If he's chosen, he will be a very, very new deputy. We may even roleplay the ceremony.
Another thing, I'm thinking I'd like to see this guy in action before I decide that he's good for deputy. RavineClan is built of very strong bonds. I need to be sure he fits in with the clan well enough to be deputy and potentially lead someday down the road. [/blockquote]
