Mintleaf A sweet breeze could be felt as it made it's way threw the CherryClan camp. It was sun-high, the CherryClan camp was busy with activity. Among these cats were Mintleaf, she had gotten up early so that she would be ready for the patrol that she would be apart of today.
She made her way to the camp entrance to wait for the rest that would be apart of the patrol. She stood there at the entrance and then raised her muzzle and looked up at the sky. Her brother Solarflare had went hunting a little earlier and he should be returning soon. Before he left he told Mintleaf and her other brother Oakfoot how he was going to catch twice as much prey as anybody else. Of course Mintleaf didn't really care all that much. She love both of her brothers but she was more worried about Oakfoot, it seemed no matter what he did Solarflare would just do it bigger and better.
She knew that there was not much she could do even though she wanted to. Why did they have to fight so much and be so completive. At first it started out as friendly competition now it's like a full blown war, sort of speak. Her parents also did a lot to help them even in their old age. But there was only so much they could do.
Mintleaf sat down and started to sway her tail from side to side. The sun was was getting higher and higher in the sky. They would need to hurry if this patrol would be started in time, the other cats she means. It wasn't that she was in a hurry, it's just that she needed to get out of camp for awhile. She liked to explore even though it was the territory that she had been there many times before, you can always find something new if you look.

HONEYDROP
you were born an original, don't die a copy [/sup]
RAINBOW PROMISES 〉 there was no way in starclan that she was going to fall back on her warrior duties just because that jerk of a tom called blackrush has impregnated her and then acted as if they had never met, days later. if she had hands, she might have wanted to strangle him. yet, despite the white tom being a complete not a very nice person towards everything in general, she didn't want to stoop down to his level and so, in a perfectly honeydrop fashion, she took everything in stride.
now, she would be lying if she said that she hadn't been surprised and then angry at his response to all of this. well, it was not actually that she told him that the kits were his, per say, but it was quite obvious -- after all, honeydrop was not the type of she-cat to go prancing around and fool with every tom within view. in hindsight, the only reason for her sudden pregnancy - in which firestone had announced only a few days prior - would be blackrush and it had been rumor for a while that the young, cream-colored she-cat had been padding after blackpaw - blackrush - since her apprentice days ever since he had effortlessly pulled her out of her little rut.
and now, more than ever, honeydrop resented him for it. acts of kindness were unreal and rare for the fellow warrior and the longhaired queen did not doubt that his actions were the least of "pure" thoughts. she wasn't anymore under any pretentious illusions that he had committed "prince-like" gestures.
at the thought, honeydrop laughed harshly. blackrush was nothing short of a complete and utter jackass -- but she was determined not to let it get to her. the young she-cat had not yet been dismissed to the nursery and therefore, she would spend the rest of her kitfree days without worry. she was assigned for a patrol, in fact, and she was headed to the camp's entrance just for that. she sighed softly under her breath, her marshmallow and chocolate pelt gleaming softly in the sunlight, and swished her tail absentmindedly, her thought wandering -- thoughts that obviously did not include blackrush, of course.
she saw mintleaf immediatley and let her face stretch into a soft smile, golden eyes brightening considerably. "hey there !" she called, waving her tail happily. she surveyed the younger warrior with quiet eyes, not saying much. mintleaf seemed to be having family troubles, but honeydrop knew it was not her place to say so instead she settled herself beside the fellow warrior, curling her tail around her paws. rasping a tongue over her creamy chest as she began to wash herself, the young queen absentmindedly wondered when she would first feel them kick.

Sure, he looked the part. His vibrant ginger fur seemed like something that could only belong to the sweet-scented clan. Even while his heart was dragging on the ground, he kept his head held high and his fur well-groomed. Lately, he had given up on moping and had thrown himself into just about every single patrol and hunting party he possibly could. At night, he slept so sound there were no room for the terrible dreams of his lost home clan. He had even forced himself to become a perfect mentor to poor Stagpaw, whose training he had been neglecting previously. He would even train with the apprentice's sister Deerpaw when the deputy Ravenflight was preoccupied. He had become, in a sense, the perfect leader. He had finally mastered memorizing every scent, voice, pelt, and pawstep. He knew the relationships between each cat and kept himself up-to-date with their personal opinions. In a sense, he had forced himself to become just like the cat he had previously been: Redstorm, deputy of BrookClan. The only difference was the clan to which he now felt loyal to. And, of course, the emotional ties he'd always feel towards his dead lost clan.
In his mind, there was no doubt they had all perished. How could they have survived, when the foxes had killed off three of four clan leaders in a matter of a few days? They must have suffered very terrible deaths... By the time he had come to terms with that, Redstar had stopped thinking about Fernstar's betrayal and was instead too fixated on his own. He doubted he'd ever look at a brook again without feeling overwhelmed with emotions of guilt and sorrow. If he let himself sit still long enough, his mind would wander back to them, imagining each painful death. He saw their faces as the foxes pulled them to the ground, each and every one of the cats he'd grown up with being slaughtered behind his closed eyelids. So he'd stopped thinking about it. He worked himself until he dropped, then he'd jump up and do it all again the next day.
And he was at it again.
His paws carried him over the ground in a swift rotating movement. Prey hung limp from his jaws. His ginger coat flashed lightly in the sunlight as he galloped closer to home. This land really was becoming like home to him. As much as he longed for BrookClan's green hills, he was coming to love the golden fields of CherryClan's new home. He just wished there were some cherry trees around, so their name would still suit so perfectly. He supposed it didn't matter too much. CherryClanner's still had their sweet scents and kind personalities.
Two she-cats came into view as he broke from the grass and slowed his pace. The copse was just ahead, the two she-warriors sitting at the edge of the shadow that marked the entrance to the camp. There was young, quiet Mintleaf and beside her patched Honeydrop. Firestone had recently alerted Redstar to Honeydrop's... condition. Redstar didn't know whether to be thrilled or nervous. He loved the thought of young kits running through the clan alongside Ashenwind's litter, but he also knew about the queen's relationship with the patched warrior Blackrush. The tom-warrior had always been an excellent warrior. He never seemed to stop hunting and was always eager to take part in a patrol. But he wasn't necessarily the best cat. He was a little cruel, uncaring to the plights of others, and a tad too self-centered. Honeydrop had adored him for a while, only to realize that he was a jerk after she had become pregnant. He was surprised how easily she took it. As far as he could tell, the kits would have the tom's blood, but they sure as hell wouldn't be Blackrush's family. Honeydrop would have trouble raising them on her won, but Redstar had no doubt she'd do an excellent job.
He came to a halt, flicking his tail lightly in a casual greeting to the younger warrior Mintleaf. Then he stepped forward and placed his mouse before dark-faced Honeydrop. "I think Firestone would kill me if I let you patrol on an empty stomach." He wished he had more fresh-kill to offer to Mintleaf, but he figured she'd be happier catching her own once they were out and about.
He sat near them, gazing briefly past them into the camp. "Where's Amberglow? We'll need to be off soon." Another young warrior, Amberglow was a pleasant, if over-exuberant, bundle of energy. Letting his gaze fall to the ground at his paws, Redstar felt a tug to be moving once more.

amberglow
The cloudless sky was just right for a notable day like this, the patrol had been on her mind since when she first woke up, and the femme was getting restless just thinking about it. It was almost time, but she felt like she would burst if she had to linger here in the now scorching sunlight a moment longer. She had unnaturally waken up early and gone hunting today, twice. Each time she caught a pitiful amount of prey because she had swiftly gotten disinterested from doing so after a matter of catches and misses. She was constantly like that though, the she-cat always needed a bit of fun to be able to carry on with her day, but from what she experienced so far she was, unsuccessfully, not feeling it. Yes, Amberglow acted a little like a kit but she could not help it. It wasn't exactly her fault that she took off after her reckless mother. Inequivalent to her mate, Amberglow's mother was always carefree and fun-loving, she had no chains that were pulling her down. It seemed as if every morning she would wake up with a smile on her face, knowing that this day would be a new opportunity for adventure. As a young kit, she always looked upon her mother as a shining example for how she needed to be. Only if she was still alive, Amberglow could just imagine how proud she would be right now.
Sighing, the femme cursed quietly to herself for getting lost in her reminisce once again. Why don't you forget about the past for a change? She thought randomly before glancing up at the blue sky. It was a clear yet light cerulean, while the yellow sun shined brightly, slowly rising in the sky. It blinded her as she looked up at it. It was a truly beautiful day for... what was it again? The she-cat knew there was something relevant happening, it was right on the tip of her tongue. Where was Honeydrop, anyway? The young queen not to mention, her good friend was no where to be seen. '' Oh! '' She exclaimed dumbstuck, suddenly remembering where Honeydrop was, and where she should have been. Laughing to herself, she couldn't believe that she forgot about the patrol. Immediately, she arose from beside the warriors den and bounded to the three warriors at the camp entrance. Redstar, Mintleaf, and Honeydrop were already waiting for her. She assumed that they had not waited too long. '' Sorry for making you guys wait! '' She called, and dipped her head to Redstar in greeting. He was a great leader, one that lead the clan well and was easy to look up to. Although, she couldn't help but think that he was a bit sad at times. She flashed him a wide grin before looking up at Mintleaf and Honeydrop. The sun's rays danced upon her fur, giving an illusion as if the young she-cat was glowing. '' Thats all of us, right? '' She said enthousiasticly, her ginger paws itching to get a move on.
finished! ☼ first post with my lovely Amberglow!

Mintleaf Mintleaf watched with blissful eyes as honeydrop came into view as she yelled a salutation to the young warrior. She waited until honey drop sat down next to her to speak. She then turned her head and with a smile returned her greeting, “Hey there honeydrop how are you.” Her voice was calm and show maturity for her young age. As she looked at honeydrop she wondered how what it was like to be pregnant, she personally didn’t really want to have kids for a long time, but still it must have been hard. She remember her time as a kit not really a care in the world, she hoped that honey drop’s kits have that same feeling.
Just as she finished her thoughts Redstar came up to patched honey drop and herself being mostly silver. When her came up to them she dipped her head in respect and gazed at the mouse in his jaws. As he place din front of honey drop she understood that it was for her because she was pregnant and needed more energy, besides she could catch something while the were out. “ Here she comes now.” mintleaf said as child like Amberglow bounded towards them.
Mintleaf was a little envious of amber glow , she wished she could be a little more happy-go-lucky, but she did have her brothers to look out for even though you would think they would look after her, being the older brothers and all. “ Yes it’s all of us. I’m ready when everyone is.” Her ear twitched, she was ready for anything today and she thinks everyone was ready for anything too.

HONEYDROP
you were born an original, don't die a copy [/sup]
ONE STEP AT A TIME 〉 all toms were stupid, purely idiotic by nature as she had come to learn by the likes of cats like blackrush and her nonexistant brother and father. it was not so much that honeydrop hated all toms on instant, that she may have been phobic of the male gender, but more so that those in her life that were indeed toms, did not prove to be very supportive, reliable, kind, friendly -- anything at all positive. there were some toms that she did like however, like redstar for example.
the dark flamelicked tom with amber eyes and a warm. albeit somewhat lonely, expression was not that bad in the cream-colored queen's eyes. in fact, because he was leader and seemed to fit into their sweet-scented clan rather well, she thought somewhat well of him. redstar was nice.
and then again, there was the fact that young honeydrop was feeling very light-hearted this morning, convinced when she had seen mintleaf waiting for the patrol to begin - and when amberdrop, one of her closest friends, joined them - that this would be a very enjoyable day. it wasn't often that she had time to herself, without firestone or some other cat fussing over her and trying to get her to swallow bitter herbs, and there was even less an occurance in when she got to hang around with the girls.
well, that would mean brackenwing had to join them too for honeydrop to be really happy. she loved spending time with her friends. however, the young she-cat was sure that she'd get to know the younger warrior, mintleaf, with time. it wouldn't be long before honeydrop could become friends with her too ! plus, there was always amberglow to keep her company. a day out with the girls would be fun -- even if redstar was a tom.
but he was nice, quite unlike the addleheaded, stupid, mousebrained, frustrating, stupid, incohrerent, stubborn, sorry excuse for a cat called blackrush. she scoffed lightly at the thought of the black-watched warrior, convincing herself that she wouldn't waste any more time thinking about him. instead, the queen smiled in response to mintleaf's words, her expression warm. her lips lifted upwards into a kind smile and she mewed, "pretty good, thanks. and you?"
her ears flicked absentmindedly as another set of paws padded lightly against the soft, sodden soil and the presence of redstar joined him, his bright colored coating impossible to miss even in the daze of the morning. her eyes flashed instantly at the words that tumbled out of the older cat's mouth, frustration and exasperation mingling in between tightly pressed lips. she could handle herself fine, thank you very much ! she hated special treatment. inwardly sighing, she knew that she couldn't refuse redstar -- still...
".. but i don't -- oh alright," she amended herself in the midst of her sentence, rather begrudgingly. her whiskers twitches unhappily, thoughts again returning to that white-washed warrior who she hated irrevocably for making her pregnant. she bent down to swallow the mouse in a few quick bites, chewing thoughtfully. she had to eat, for the sake of the little lives inside of her, if nothing else. honeydrop casually wondered, again, when she would start to show.
then amberdrop showed up and her expression immediatley brightened, laughing softly as her best friend came bouncing towards them. she had forgotten all about it, hadn't she? her lips twitched upwards into an amused smile, flicking her tail against the younger cat's flank in a friendly manner to greet her. she smiled warmly, swallowing the last bits of her prey, and then straightened her shoulders with a happy nod. "yup, i think that's all of us !" she grinned just as broadly, turning to redstar. "i'm set, let's go."
