(i'd just like to marvel for a moment that i accidentally made that title rhyme....... okay, done marveling.)
so, listen, i know we've had this conversation time and time again: is this place dead or alive?
i once told myself i'd never say this, but i've really lost interest in the Warriors universe. it's not that i don't want to make this place work again, but i've been having killer trouble mustering muse for much of any felines right now.
which definitely makes me feel guilty because i LOVE these characters and, even more, i LOVE!!1! you guys who have stuck with this site(/s) through the ages; we've been great friends and we've had some really awesome times. no matter what happens i don't want us to drift apart.
i don't want to give up, but something has got to be done.
so please let me know your thoughts and opinions on the matter.

dark-rah, beloved, i'm feeling the same way. I love my characters, but finding muse for felines is beyond my capabilities right now.
but I don't want to lose you guys! I love you all SO MUCH!
what if we tried something more low-key? one or two charries each, perhaps not warriors? just a thought....What else would we all be willing to roleplay?
i LOVE you guys. so much. i won't give up!

i got the idea the other day to shift some/all of our current characters to human-animal shapeshifters. (not unlike Gray's The Island, skye.)
my biggest reluctance, or perhaps my biggest fondness of Warriors right now is that it's easier to shuffle through characters. your characters can have children which will grow up in a reasonable amount of time and then you can roleplay the children. with humans, that's extremely difficult.
so you guys can shoot that idea down if you'd like. i just thought it would make individual characters more unique.
do we want to keep the same characters or start completely anew?

I agree with what's been said here. I don't even read the books anymore but I still love coming here and roleplaying with you guys and creating our own stories that are frankly, better and I guess more mature than the Warriors series. I adore my characters but as far as feline roleplaying goes, it might be better to move on.
I've never roleplayed humans before but I'd be willing to give it a shot. However, I do not want to start a new site, re-write characters etc, if its just going to fall apart again. I just don't have the time for that unless everyone is on board.
I think I would miss my characters if we made totally new ones, or at least, they would creep their way back if I made a new one. I'm willing to give your idea a shot Dark.
But no matter what, I had amazing times here that I don't want to give up and I see so much potential for what we created.

alright, i think i've already figured one thing out: no more site-wide plots? we (mostly me) plan them out and we never get to complete them so it seems like a better idea would be to simply have the individual character plots that different members put together.
but, to see if we're all on the same page, i've gone overboard and written up this huge list of questions about roleplaying preferences. although it's your opinions that matter most, i'm going to ask this on a few other sites too (dA, Caution, and my only other roleplaying site anymore, SnS). i just want to see a broader spectrum, even if those answers don't really matter.
- Do you prefer site-driven plots or smaller, character-driven plots? - Do you think the site should be organized with a strict set of rules and guidelines or loose with a few or no rules? - Do you prefer keeping all your characters on one account or each on a separate account? - Do you find character limits too limiting or helpful for keeping the population under control? - Do you like doing character bios? - Do you like having an exact outline to follow for your character bios? - Do character bios feel time consuming and slow because they have to be so long? - Would shorter character bios make it easier to get straight to roleplaying or leave you with a blurry, undefined character? - In a character bio, do you like lists or whole sentences? - What are your thoughts on posting minimums? - What are your thoughts on posting maximums? - Do you think characters should be limited to a single species or allow a variety? - Should the allowed species be outlined with strengths, weaknesses, etc, or be open to interpretation? - Should the setting be outlined completely (perhaps with a map) or be left open to individual interpretation? - Do you prefer roleplaying humanoids or roleplaying animals? - Do you prefer realistic or fantasy?
and these last few are specific to tFS only.
- What characters are you positive you want to keep? - Do you want to keep these characters for their individual personalities or for the relationships their involved with? - Do you want to keep all character interactions as they've progressed over time or start anew? - Do you want to keep our current social statuses? (ie. Loststar's character will still be a leader and Cometpaw will still be a student.) - Do you want to switch to something entirely original or select another fandom? - Do we want to keep some of the basics that we like from the Warriors fandom as we switch to something new?

-Do you prefer site-driven plots or smaller, character-driven plots?Smaller plots. I like the site-driven ones too but they never seem to work out. - Do you think the site should be organized with a strict set of rules and guidelines or loose with a few or no rules? A set of rules we all agree on- more guidelines than rules. - Do you prefer keeping all your characters on one account or each on a separate account? One account, for sure! - Do you find character limits too limiting or helpful for keeping the population under control? They help with the population control, but not too small of a limit. - Do you like doing character bios? Uggh, no, I hate them. - Do you like having an exact outline to follow for your character bios? Nope! - Do character bios feel time consuming and slow because they have to be so long? Yes! It's hard for me to pinpoint my character- they're deep, complex, multi-faceted, so character bios are so hard for me! - Would shorter character bios make it easier to get straight to roleplaying or leave you with a blurry, undefined character? Easier to get to roleplaying! - In a character bio, do you like lists or whole sentences? Doesn't matter to me. Hate them. Haha! - What are your thoughts on posting minimums? Probably a good idea, forces me to get past my writer's block when it inevitably attacks me. - What are your thoughts on posting maximums? Wouldn't be a fan, just because I love Skye and Dark's uber long posts that my pitiful ones can never compare to...but I love readin' em :) - Do you think characters should be limited to a single species or allow a variety? Depends on the site. It needs to make sense, the variety can't be random like Zebras and Polar Bears. That's just dumb. - Should the allowed species be outlined with strengths, weaknesses, etc, or be open to interpretation? Again, it needs to make sense. You can't say that you're cheetah's strength is his brawn, that's just dumb. - Should the setting be outlined completely (perhaps with a map) or be left open to individual interpretation? Semi-outlined, but allow for interpretation. Don't give me the exact locations of all the plants and trees, that would stunt the roleplaying potential. - Do you prefer roleplaying humanoids or roleplaying animals? I love them both equally. - Do you prefer realistic or fantasy? Again, I love them both equally.
and these last few are specific to tFS only.
- What characters are you positive you want to keep? Oh, no! Such a hard decision.... Gryffinwing, Phantomstar, Freshshadow, Firestone, Stagpaw. There are others I would have loved to keep but the relationships that they have have gone kaput, since their roleplayers are gone :( - Do you want to keep these characters for their individual personalities or for the relationships their involved with? Both. Some that I wanted to keep I decided not to because the relationships are gone. - Do you want to keep all character interactions as they've progressed over time or start anew? As they've progressed is fine. Or anew, either way. - Do you want to keep our current social statuses? (ie. Loststar's character will still be a leader and Cometpaw will still be a student.) Doesn't particularly matter to me. - Do you want to switch to something entirely original or select another fandom? Again, doesn't matter. - Do we want to keep some of the basics that we like from the Warriors fandom as we switch to something new? I'm impartial either way.

- Do you prefer site-driven plots or smaller, character-driven plots? ›› Character-driven plots. - Do you think the site should be organized with a strict set of rules and guidelines or loose with a few or no rules? ›› I like the rules we have here. :3 - Do you prefer keeping all your characters on one account or each on a separate account? ›› I don't really have a preference? Single Accounts are easier to maintain, though. - Do you find character limits too limiting or helpful for keeping the population under control? ›› I don't really like Character Limits. However, if we see a problem - like a member making twenty characters in a day - then I think we should establish one. - Do you like doing character bios? ›› NOT THE HISTORY. o3o;;; But otherwise, yes. :3 - Do you like having an exact outline to follow for your character bios? ›› .. ehh... - Do character bios feel time consuming and slow because they have to be so long? ›› Sometimes, yes. Not all the time, though. :3 - Would shorter character bios make it easier to get straight to roleplaying or leave you with a blurry, undefined character? ›› Blurry, undefined character usually. I like the way we do it here. With roleplays. - In a character bio, do you like lists or whole sentences? ›› I prefer either. - What are your thoughts on posting minimums? ›› I like them. - What are your thoughts on posting maximums? ›› I hate them. >3 - Do you think characters should be limited to a single species or allow a variety? ›› Variety. - Should the allowed species be outlined with strengths, weaknesses, etc, or be open to interpretation? ›› Interpretation, but like... ShadowClan cats are usually mean, crude, selfish, but not all the time. We just don't want superhumans, unless well, they're supposed to be. - Should the setting be outlined completely (perhaps with a map) or be left open to individual interpretation? ›› Complete. - Do you prefer roleplaying humanoids or roleplaying animals? ›› Anime Characters, actually. <3 Icons are fun. - Do you prefer realistic or fantasy? ›› Realistic fantasy? xD; I like playing fiction.
and these last few are specific to tFS only.
- What characters are you positive you want to keep? ›› CINDERPAWWW. <3 Crowflight, and Flametwist too probably. - Do you want to keep these characters for their individual personalities or for the relationships their involved with? ›› Crow and Flame because of their bios, and histories mainly, while Cinderpaw because well. He's just awesome. - Do you want to keep all character interactions as they've progressed over time or start anew? ›› I'd probably have Crow and Flame be twins. But, Cinderpaw. I'd like him to keep his relationships. - Do you want to keep our current social statuses? (ie. Loststar's character will still be a leader and Cometpaw will still be a student.) ›› 83 yes. - Do you want to switch to something entirely original or select another fandom? ›› Original would be cool, but I don't have a problem with fandoms either. - Do we want to keep some of the basics that we like from the Warriors fandom as we switch to something new? ›› I like the whole thing that Dark mentioned, about the babies, but I don't think that could be switched over. What "basics" are you talking about?

i'm really eager to get started, but i need you guys on board. please post input as frequently as you can.
skye and i further discussed the shapeshifter possibility. my idea was to make it similar to the anime Wolf's Rain, if any of you have seen that. in that show, the wolves have this ability to astroproject the appearance that they are human. they can interact with humans without being detected if they wish. or they can remain entirely wolf. if we did something similar to this, different characters could choose to be more human or more animalistic.
i've pretty much decided to have no site-wide plot. it will be entirely character driven. so if a character pushes for a war or something, it could totally happen if that character is actually pushing for it.
my other main idea is to have almost no set social system. it would also be fully character-driven. if a character wants to found a pack, they can just go for it. skye was interested in having a school at some point. her character(s) are welcome to pursue that. or if you have a more loner character, that character could live on his/her own. let me know if you'd like a more structured system for this. definitely a point to debate. This shapeshifter idea sounds interesting, but I'd need more detail on it. I'm pretty much game for anything, haha x)

I agree with the no site-wide plot. It seems like we always spend more time talking about plot and we are forever waiting for people to post, fill positions, get it moving, etc. So I think just characters is great and then that will make sure its more active too I would be willing to give that style of roleplaying a shot. I've never roleplayed humans before but I'm sure I could learn really quickly. Are we using the same characters? I'm not really looking forward to writing a bunch of character bios...not sure if I'm going to have time for that. I don't think we should have any posting limits but writing these huge character bios was always hard for me and I have limited time as it is. but the shapeshifter idea sounds cool

oh! i forgot to mention my great idea for bios!
we'll have a thread that states everything that is required to be mentioned in the character bio such as name, age, short appearance things(eye color, hair color, height, etc), animal form, two main character traits, one flaw and one fear. and all that's required is that all of those things are in the bio. if someone wanted to just do quick bullets, they'd be welcome to do so. if someone -coffskyecoff- wanted to do two to four thousand words on either a descriptive post or in depth description could do that as well. you could use bios either to just get the character done quickly or to fully flesh out a character if it's new.
this should make posting the bios a lot quicker if you want it to be. [/color][/blockquote]

Question! So, we're shapeshifters, like on the Island, si? But they don't all have to morph into cats, no? But our current characters would? Hmm.....that's a lot of cat morphingness.......
oh and HUZZAH I LOOOVE the idea about the bios xD because for me, my characters tend to become more of who they are as I roleplay them. I stink at setting characters in stone before I even get to interact with them. And if I do know them really well, like Gryffinwing and Phantomstar, it's just a PAIN because I like to rolepay them too much to try and hack my way through their history. so I'm UBER excited about the bio thing XDD
