going deeper
face value: If there was one word to describe Snow, it would have to be petite. And it fits her perfectly. She is very small for her age, rather, just in general, but it works for her, with that lithe frame and those smoldering blue-yellow eyes. Plus, her pelt is splattered with such contrasting colors that would appear garish on a cat much larger than she. But on petite Snow, the rich chocolate splattered against pure white is stunning in the best of ways. What she lacks in stature and build she more than makes up for in the coloring and pattern of her pelt. Not only is the white base of her fur covered with a rich chocolate hue on her back and legs, but the chocolate has streaks of a light caramel color and off-white splattered throughout. Her eyes are a startlingly brilliant blue, with shadows of yellow all throughout. image
beneath the surface: Snow has always been a roamer. As a youngster, her heart and mind would roam across dreams and hopes, potential futures and what her life would soon become. They were ridiculous dreams, involving endless land and complete freedom. Sure, as a druid she wasn't very limited, but as a youngling she still had to follow rules and do as she was told. She loves to be free to do whatever she wants, whenever she wants. She loves to explore, loves to feel the wind ruffle her fur and the freedom that comes with being a Ranger.
She is a naturally reserved cat. Though she has a big heart, full of love and hope and promise, it's rare that she lets her heart express itself. In fact, it's rare that she speak at all. Many of her fellow rangers haven't heard her speak more than a sentence in three days, for she finds no need to waste breath on unneccessary conversations. With Wind, though, she could talk for ages. But, because he's Wind and completely knows her, she doesn't have to.
into the past: Snow's life has been the life of a typical Ranger. She was dubbed Snow upon her birth because of the white undertones of her pelt. Plus, upon the first snowfall of her life, her love and adoration for the white substance falling from the sky made her name the best choice possible for the quiet little youngling.
When she reached the age of apprenticehood, her parents decided to let an older tom named Stone teach her. Their personalities seemed to mesh well, for Snow had just enough curiosity and Stone had just enough patience to counterbalance each other. Stone taught Snow everything that he knew before he passed, but her mentor's death shattered the young she-cat. She had had no taste of death previously and did not care for the hole it left in her heart.
Listless, unhappy and unwilling to become a Ranger, Snow retreated even more into herself. Previously, she had loved to explore and discover but after Stone's death she remained in her den, only leaving to eat and relieve herself. Finally, she was forced to become a Ranger and managed to find herself through hunting: it was her greatest pastime, and she could hunt for ages. It was the only thing that brought her pleasure.
She was becoming of age to find a mate, but she didn't really pay much attention to the idea, until Wind approached. Well, she thought to herself, he is a nice looking tom and could be a nice cat to be around, so she agreed. Their first few moons together were awkward, for they both found themselves at a loss of what to say to each other.
But Snow soon began to realize that she didn't have to say anything to Wind, because he understood her. She learned that this was no longer a pairing of convenience, but of more. Of affection, compassion and love. She has never outright said this to Wind, but she tries to let it show through her actions. Her life is one of peace, curiosity and love, and she couldn't be happier.
